[English]

Background and Objectives: Nitrogen (N), as an essential nutrient for growth and development of plants, is added to agricultural fields to boost crop yield. Soil inorganic amendments such as zeolite are good strategies to improve soil quality and increase soil nitrogen content. The objective of this research was conducted with the aim of determine the impact of zeolite and ammonium sulphate fertilizer on physiological characteristics and yield in two soils with different texture.

Materials and Methods: This experiment was conducted as a split plot in pots conditions in three replicates in Sari Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources University in 2022. In this experiment, the main factors include two types of soils (silty clay loam and sandy loam) and the secondary factors in twelve levels include the control, 108 and 153 mg kg-1 ammonium sulphate fertilizer, 2, 4 and 6 g zeolite with 108 mg. kg ammonium sulphate, 2, 4 and 6 g zeolite with 153 mg kg-1 ammonium sulphate and 2, 4 and 6 g enriched zeolite were considered. The amount of ammonium sulfate fertilizer was determined according to the soil test and zeolite was enriched by ion saturation method. Data analysis was done in the Statistic software and the mean comparisons were made by LSD test.

Results: The results showed that the effects of the soil type treatments were significant on pod weight, protein grain and grain yield and the effects of the amendment treatments were significant on all studied traits. the interaction effect of soil type and amendment treatments were significant on biological yield, harvest index, oil yield and grain yield. 4 g zeolite with 153 mg kg-1 ammonium sulphate (T7) was the most effective treatment on pod weight and leaf chlorophyll content. The highest amount of plant height and protein grain was observed in 6 g zeolite with 153 mg kg-1 ammonium sulphate (T8) and 153 mg kg-1 ammonium sulphate (T2) respectively. The highest amount of biological yield and grain yield was observed in silty clay loam soil and 6 g zeolite with 153 mg kg-1 ammonium sulphate (T8). the most effective treatment on harvest index was silty clay loam soil and 108 mg kg-1 ammonium sulphate (T2) and the highest amount of oil yield was observed in silty clay loam soil and 2 g zeolite with 153 mg kg-1 ammonium sulphate (T6).

Conclusion: According to the results of the present study, all studied traits in soil with silty clay loam texture are more than soil with sandy loam texture. The best results were obtained in 6 g zeolite with 153 mg. kg ammonium sulphate (T8) and among the enriched zeolite treatments, application of 6 gr enriched zeolite with ammonium was the most effective treatment. It can be concluded that the combined use of zeolite and ammonium sulphate can be a suitable solution for improving rapeseed yield.
